The first team travels to Saaremaa on Saturday to face Kuressaare
FCI Levadia continue their Premium Liiga campaign on Saturday with an away match against FC Kuressaare in Round 10.
Kick-off is at 14:30 at Kuressaare City Stadium, and the game carries special significance as it will be Levadia’s first match of the season on natural grass.
The first round of the Premium Liiga is now complete, with FCI Levadia sitting at the top of the table. Head coach Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko admits the season so far has been anything but easy:
“The first round of the Premium Liiga is over and we are at the top of the table. What are my impressions of the league? It’s balanced, competitive and full of surprises. We now have a good overview of all teams and one thing is clear – no one can be underestimated.”
According to Zahovaiko, leading the table does not create extra pressure within the squad:
“No, it doesn’t. We deserve to be where we are because we give 100% every day.”
The upcoming match in Saaremaa will be a tough challenge. FC Kuressaare are always dangerous at home, and the well-known unpredictable weather conditions may also influence the game:
“The opponent is a disciplined team with strong fighting spirit, but the conditions are equal and we focus on our own game,” Zahovaiko emphasized.
The head coach believes the key will be Levadia’s own approach:
“We want to continue with the same energy that has carried us since the start of the season. We want to play our game, dictate the tempo and be dangerous and effective in front of goal.”
Player Victory Sunday Iboro also shared his thoughts, highlighting the challenge of playing on natural grass and the importance of fan support:
“This game will not be easy for us after three months – it’s our first on natural grass. But with the help of Almighty God, we will give everything to win. I also want to take a moment to thank all our fans – a big thank you! I see your support and dedication in every match and it means a lot to us.”
FCI Levadia invite all supporters to attend the next home match on May 9 at A. Le Coq Arena. The opponent will be Harju JK Laagri, and kick-off is at 17:00. Come to the stadium and support the team!
Tickets for the next home match are already available on Piletitasku.
