FCI Levadia defeated Tartu JK Tammeka away

FCI Levadia secured a valuable away victory in Round 8 of the Premium liiga, beating Tartu JK Tammeka 2–1. Although Levadia dominated the match, it turned out more tense than expected and was decided only in the closing stages.

Levadia started confidently, quickly taking control of the game and creating dangerous chances. The visitors took an early lead when Enock Otoo scored his first goal of the season with a long-range strike. Despite several good opportunities in the first half, Levadia went into the break with a 1:0 lead.

In the second half, Tammeka grew more into the game, but Levadia’s defense held firm. In the 71st minute, Frank Liivak made a strong run forward and delivered a precise pass to Tambedou, who rounded the goalkeeper and finished into an empty net to make it 2:0. It seemed the game was decided, but Tammeka responded immediately with a goal of their own, reducing the score to 2:1.

Levadia then managed the game smartly and successfully held on to secure all three points.

Levadia captain Rasmus Peetson emphasized after the match that the team is striving to maintain high standards:

“We set ourselves a standard with the previous game that we have to follow as a team. It was a bit more difficult than we wanted,” said Peetson after the match to Soccernet.ee.

“We thought that after making it 2–0 we could settle down and see the game out calmly, but they scored right away and it became a real battle,” the captain continued. “We played our game patiently, but the conditions were difficult. The first half was especially tough with the wind, but we stayed calm, did our job, and remained patient.”

The win gives Levadia important points in the league and keeps them in second place in the table. Their next match is already this Sunday, when they host Narva JK Trans at Sportland Arena at 17:00. Tickets are available via Piletitasku.
