We Lifted the Championship Trophy in Paide!
Today, on November 9, we traveled to Paide for the last match of the season to play the 36th round of the Premium League. The game, which began at 12:30, ended with Paide’s 3-0 victory. However, after the final whistle, the champions were still rewarded with honor.
The start of the game was rough for FCI Levadia — Paide City Team managed to score their first goal in the 5th minute. But that wasn’t all — in the 14th minute, goalkeeper Karl Andre Vallner was shown a red card for fouling an opposing striker. From that moment, FCI Levadia had to play shorthanded after Vallner was sent off. Due to the situation, a substitution was made in the 17th minute, with Oliver Ani coming onto the field as Robert Kirss exited.
Although the first half was already eventful by then, Paide City Team scored again in the 25th minute, with Robi Saarma as the scorer. In addition to Vallner’s red card, a total of four yellow cards were issued to both teams in the first half. At halftime, we went into the break with a 2-0 deficit.
The beginning of the second half gave Levadia hope that the game might resemble the last matchup of last season. However, it did not happen, and in the 55th minute, Paide City Team scored again — 3-0. The opposing team made three substitutions in the 58th and 68th minutes. A triple substitution followed for Levadia, with Bah, Skvortsov, and Järvelaid entering the game.
With the final whistle came the presentation of the championship trophy to FCI Levadia, as Estonian Football Association President Aivar Pohlak handed the well-deserved trophy to team captain Rasmus Peetson. Over 200 fans traveled with us from Tallinn to Paide today — thank you for a wonderful season, and we’ll see you again next year!
