We bring home a sweet 3:2 victory from Tartu!
The match on Women’s Day ended with a 3:2 victory for FCI Levadia! The game was played on the artificial turf field at Tartu Sepa Football Center.
Today, the first team traveled to Tartu to play the second round match of the Premium League against Tammeka. A total of 360 spectators gathered at the stadium, including several dozen Levadia fans who traveled from Tallinn to support the team in securing their second important win of the season. The match kicked off at 14:30.
FCI Levadia starting lineup: Karl Andre Vallner, Michael Schjonning-Larsen, Tanel Tammik, Rasmus Peetson, Edgar Tur, Bubacarr Tambedou, Mihkel Ainsalu, Aleksandre Lopes Gomes, Richie Musaba, Enock Otoo, and Joao Pedro.
From the very start, it was clear that both teams were giving their all. Levadia and Tammeka took turns pressing each other, and strong defensive work was required on both sides.
Peetson’s opening goal and first-half events
Levadia took the lead in the 18th minute when team captain Rasmus Peetson headed in a corner kick from Joao Pedro. Tammeka’s goalkeeper, Aland, managed to get a touch on the ball, but Peetson’s shot was powerful enough to find the net, giving Levadia a 1:0 lead!
Just seven minutes later, in the 25th minute, Tammeka equalized, making it 1:1. However, Levadia was determined to regain the lead before halftime. Right before the break, Tanel Tammik sent the ball into the net in front of his former home crowd, putting Levadia ahead 2:1!
Second half: VAR and a last-minute winning goal
The second half started without goals, although Levadia had several good chances. One of the best was a one-on-one situation for Richie Musaba, but goalkeeper Aland managed to stop him. Musaba also scored a goal that was later disallowed after a VAR review due to a handball.
In the 72nd minute, Tammeka equalized again, bringing the score to 2:2. The tie remained until the final minutes of regular time, but Levadia eventually found the winner – in the 89th minute, Moustapha Bah delivered a perfect pass to Ahmad Gero, who confidently finished it. Initially, there were doubts about a possible offside, but after a VAR review, the goal was confirmed! Levadia took a 3:2 lead just before stoppage time.
Due to VAR decisions, seven minutes of added time were given, but neither team managed to score again. Levadia returns from Tartu with three crucial points from the second round of the Premium League!
