Til Mavretič returns to the pitch after a seven-month break!
FCI Levadia midfielder Til Mavretič made his long-awaited return on April 5, earning his first minutes on the pitch after more than seven months away. The Slovenian last played in August 2024, when an injury forced him to end his season prematurely.
In the 26th round of the Premium Liiga, Levadia faced their eternal rivals, FC Flora. Mavretič started in the big Tallinn derby on August 30, but was forced to leave the pitch in the 65th minute due to injury. The diagnosis revealed an overuse injury – a cartilage fracture in the ankle area. Less than two weeks later, on September 10, Mavretič underwent surgery, marking the beginning of a long recovery process.
Mavretič joined FCI Levadia in 2022 and has proven himself to be a key player for the team since his first season. In his debut year, he clocked 837 minutes and scored one goal. In 2023, that number rose to 2086 minutes. By the time of his injury in the 2024 season, he had played 2245 minutes, scored twice, and provided two assists.
Thanks to his commitment and consistent performance, Til has become one of Levadia’s leaders, currently serving as the team’s third captain behind Rasmus Peetson and Mihkel Ainsalu.
After a long wait, Mavretič stepped back onto the field yesterday when head coach Curro Torres brought him on in the 79th minute against Narva Trans, replacing Richie Musaba. His first 15 minutes of the season are now in the books, and hopefully, this marks the beginning of a strong comeback.
Til Mavretič: “It feels amazing to be back! I waited for this moment so long – it felt like an eternity. I couldn’t be happier than I was yesterday on the pitch. I hope to reach my best form soon and help the team in defending the title and reaching even bigger goals this year!”
We wish Til continued health and success this season!
