The Last International Break of the Year! Today We Face Azerbaijan.
On November 10, the men’s national A-team embarked on another trip, this time for matches against Azerbaijan and Slovakia. Head coach Jürgen Henn selected five Levadia players to represent Estonia. The matches are scheduled to kick off on November 16 at 16:00 and November 19 at 21:45.
Among the players chosen by Jürgen Henn for the matches against Azerbaijan and Slovakia are Levadia representatives Mihkel Ainsalu, Rasmus Peetson, Michael Scjonning-Larsen, Ioan Yakovlev, and Karl Andre Vallner. This marks the third international break under Jürgen Henn’s leadership, and it’s noteworthy that these five Levadia players have been called up every time.
Today, November 16, the men’s national team will face Azerbaijan at the Gabala City Stadium. Earlier this year, we already faced Azerbaijan at home, at A. Le Coq Arena. That match was significant as it broke Estonia’s goalless streak over several matches. The lineup included Larsen, Ainsalu, and Yakovlev, with Peetson joining in the 29th minute. Estonia secured a 3:1 victory, with one goal scored by Levadia’s own Ioan Yakovlev! Today’s match kicks off at 16:00 and can be watched on ETV2.
On November 19, the national team will play its final match of the year against Slovakia at Anton Malatinsky Stadium. The last encounter with Slovakia was in September, where Estonia narrowly lost 0:1. In that match, two Levadia players—Mihkel Ainsalu and Michael Scjonning-Larsen—started in the lineup, with Ioan Yakovlev joining in the 78th minute. The kickoff for the upcoming match is on November 19 at 21:45.
We wish the entire team, and especially our Levadia players, the best of luck!
