Former Manchester City U23 midfielder Ernest Agyiri joined FCI Levadia

FCI Levadia have signed an employment contract with Ernest Agyir, a former central attacking midfielder of Manchester City U23. The agreement was concluded for two years, with the possibility of extension for another year.

22-year-old Agyiri (born March 6, 1998) moved from the Accra Right to Dream Academy in his homeland of Ghana to Manchester City Academy in the winter of 2015.

In 2016-2018, Agyiri was on loan to the Norwegian club Vålerenga Fotball, in the season 2018/2019 to the Belgian club AFC Tubize and last season 2019/2020 to the Cypriot team Enosis Neon Paralimniou. Last summer, the contract with Manchester City in Agyiri expired, now he has joined FCI Levadia as a free agent.

“I am very happy to join FCI Levadia! The club is professional and the team is strong. I look forward to the start of the new season. I want to help the team win both the Estonian championship title and the trophy,” said Agyiri.

“Ernest Agiyri is a player with a very good level and outstanding qualities, who adds a lot to our team. I very much hope that he will realize his full potential and help us to achieve the set goals, ” said Sergei Pareiko, Sports Director of FCI Levadia.

Ernest Agyiri’s elder brother Thomas Agyiri plays for the Finnish Veikkausliiga club FC KTP.

Ernest Agyiri is the eighth winter addition to FCI Levadia – previously Zakaria Beglarišvili, Karl Andre Vallner, Milijan Ilić, Anton Tolordava, Volodymyr Bayenko, Luka Luković and Aamir Abdallah Yunis joined the team.

Today, on January 29 at 19:30, FCI will face JK Tammeka Tartu in the second game of the Winter Tournament in Levadia Lilleküla football hall. The game is held without an audience.
