Levadia add three more points. Tammeka return home empty-handed.
The Premium Liiga Round 31 match between FCI Levadia and Tartu Tammeka, played on October 5, ended with a convincing 3–0 victory for Levadia. Three points are added to the tally, and the title race remains wide open.
FCI Levadia started the match with the following lineup: Karl Andre Vallner (GK), Michael Schjonning-Larsen, Tanel Tammik, Rasmus Peetson (C), Edgar Tur, Mihkel Ainsalu, Til Mavretic, Carlos Torres, Victory Iboro, Joao Pedro and Wendell Gabriel.
Levadia began the first half in full control, and already in the 15th minute striker Wendell Gabriel found the net. After a corner from Joao Pedro, the ball remained loose in front of the goal, Larsen played it towards Wendell, whose powerful strike left the goalkeeper with no chance – 1–0!
A few minutes later, Wendell scored again, breaking through two Tammeka defenders on a counterattack and calmly slotting the ball home. However, after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to a foul by Mihkel Ainsalu in the buildup.
That didn’t stop Levadia’s forward from showing his quality once more before halftime. In the 44th minute, Edgar Tur sent in a precise cross from the wing, and Gabriel headed the ball into the net to make it 2–0 at the break.
During stoppage time of the first half, Til Mavretic picked up a slight injury and was replaced by Mark Oliver Roosnuppat the start of the second half. The substitution paid off quickly – in the 56th minute, Roosnupp assisted Mihkel Ainsalu, who made it 3–0.
Later in the game, Ernest Agyiri, Bubacarr Tambedou, Aleksandr Zakarliuka, and returning player Enock Otoocame on from the bench. Otoo, making his first appearance after a long injury break, was close to scoring – his shot hit the post and bounced just over.
The Man of the Match award went to Wendell Gabriel, who scored twice – his first time receiving this honour. Congratulations!
A big thank-you to all the fans who came out to support Levadia despite the autumn rain!
Only one more home match remains in the Premium Liiga season – on October 22, Levadia will host Paide Linnameeskond, which will also be Levadia’s birthday match.
Before that, on October 12, Levadia face FC Flora U21 in the Tipner Cup Round of 32. The match kicks off at 15:00 at Maarjamäe Stadium.
Tickets for both matches are available at Piletitasku – see you at the stadium!
