International break is over – back to league action
Yesterday, on September 9, the Estonian A national team played their second and final match of the September international window. From today, the players are back at the training base, preparing for Saturday’s upcoming clash against Tartu Tammeka.
The team had gathered last Monday and first traveled to Italy, where they faced the Italian national team on September 5. After holding the hosts to a goalless first half, Estonia eventually had to admit defeat, as Italy ran away with a 5–0 victory in the second half.
On September 9, a farewell match was held for two legends – Konstantin Vassiljev and Taijo Teniste ended their international careers. The friendly against Andorra took place at A. Le Coq Arena and finished 0–0, with no goals scored by either side.
Six Levadia players were called up to the squad: Karl Andre Vallner, Mihkel Ainsalu, Rasmus Peetson, Edgar Tur, Tanel Tammik and Michael Schjønning-Larsen. Across the two matches, four of them made appearances, while Tammik and Vallner remained on the sidelines.
This Saturday, Premium Liiga action resumes with Matchweek 27 as we face Tartu JK Tammeka away. Kick-off is set for September 13 at 17:00, and the game will be broadcast live on Soccernet TV.
