Four Rounds, Four Wins! Levadia Defeats Nõmme Kalju 2:1 at Home

On March 30, FCI Levadia played its first major home match of the season, hosting Nõmme Kalju FC. In a heated battle, Levadia secured a 2:1 victory, with 563 spectators in attendance.

The two teams entered the match from different positions – Levadia led the Premium Liiga with a perfect record, while Kalju was in sixth place. After today’s round, Levadia remains at the top with 12 points, while Nõmme Kalju drops to seventh place with four points.

Starting Lineups and First Half

Levadia’s starting lineup: Karl Andre Vallner, Michael Schjonning-Larsen, Rasmus Peetson, Brent Lepistu, Mihkel Ainsalu, Ernest Agyiri, Aleksandre Lopes Gomes, Ahmad Gero, Frank Liivak, Enock Otoo, and Joao Pedro.

The home team dominated the first half, giving Kalju few opportunities. Levadia’s goal was to secure an early lead, and they succeeded – by halftime, they were up 2:0.

In the 35th minute, Joao Pedro converted a penalty earned by Frank Liivak, putting Levadia ahead. Just before the break, in the 43rd minute, team captain Rasmus Peetson extended the lead with a header into the net.

Second Half and Final Score

While Levadia focused on attacking in the first half, they shifted to a more defensive approach in the second half to maintain their lead and secure three points. Kalju pushed for a goal and managed to score in the 77th minute, bringing the score to 2:1. Although the visitors created several more chances, they were unable to capitalize, and the match ended with Levadia winning 2:1.

The best player of the televised match was Levadia’s captain, Rasmus Peetson.

Levadia continues its season in the 5th round of the Premium Liiga with an away match against JK Narva Trans. The game will take place on April 5 at 14:30.
