FCIL United U13 Achieves Fourth Place in a High-Level Tournament!

The newly launched FCIL United project, consisting of the best young players from FCI Levadia and FCI Tallinn, participated in the prestigious Atleitis Cup last weekend and achieved an impressive fourth place!

The Atleitis Cup took place from November 15–17 in Lithuania. In Group B, where FCIL United competed, teams from England, Lithuania, and Latvia also participated. The first match against FS Ventspils from Latvia ended with a solid 3–0 victory. The second game against Lithuania’s FK Žalgiris Vilnius resulted in a 1–0 win. The third match was against England’s BWB 03 Bath, ending in a 2–2 draw, securing first place for FCIL United in Group B.

In the quarterfinals, they faced FK Granitas Vilnius from Lithuania. After a 1–1 draw in regular time, our boys triumphed in a penalty shootout, advancing to the semifinals. In the semifinals, they played against the strong Italian team S.S. Lazio. Unfortunately, FCIL United narrowly lost 0–1, which meant they advanced to the 3rd–4th place match against the familiar BWB 03 Bath team. Despite another 1–1 draw in regular time, the boys lost in the penalty shootout.

U13 Head Coach Nikita Martynov:
“This time, we finished fourth, which is a bit disappointing because we played good football throughout the tournament. Considering that we had five younger players in the squad, the result is still commendable. Our goal was to perform well in the group stage, face Lazio, and understand how far we are from Europe’s top teams. The match showed that we are not far at all, and in my opinion, we were even better in the game. We had great chances to win the semifinal, but unfortunately, we lost 0–1. For our club, it is very important that young players gain international experience. I am especially pleased that the tournament’s best midfielder was awarded to our player, Robert Inevatov, born in 2012. We will keep working and look forward to the next strong tournament.”

The club is proud of the FCIL United U13 team, who performed excellently in the tournament! Despite narrowly missing the final and finishing fourth, they achieved great results against strong European teams. Great work by both the coaches and young players!
