FCI Levadia’s Conference League journey begins: a duel against the Georgian champions awaits

Already next Wednesday, on July 23rd, FCI Levadia will play the first match of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round. The game will take place at A. Le Coq Arena, with Georgian champions FC Iberia 1999 as the opponent. Kick-off is at 19:30.

Levadia’s Champions League journey ended on July 15th in Riga, where after two matches, FC RFS proved stronger with an aggregate score of 0–2. This means Levadia now continues in the Conference League, where FC Iberia 1999 awaits as the next challenge.

The Georgian champions started their European season in the Champions League first qualifying round, facing Malmö FF. Over two matches, FC Iberia 1999 lost to the Swedish top club with an aggregate score of 2–6.

The first half of the Georgian domestic league season — Erovnuli Liga — is already complete, with the last games played at the end of May. FC Iberia 1999 leads the table with 44 points from 18 matches, securing 13 wins and 5 draws. Their league campaign resumes on August 2nd.

FCI Levadia also leads the Estonian Premium Liiga, collecting 47 points from 20 matches. Before the upcoming European game, Levadia will face Harju JK Laagri tomorrow. Judging by both domestic league standings, an evenly matched and exciting encounter can be expected.

The return leg against FC Iberia 1999 will take place on July 29th in Georgia.
