FCI Levadia’s Champions League journey ends in the first qualifying round

FCI Levadia had to accept defeat in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round, losing 0–1 to the Latvian champions. With a 0–2 aggregate score, Levadia’s path in Europe now continues in the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round.

The match started with a scare for Levadia: already in the opening minutes, the team came under pressure, and the ball found its way into the net once, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Both teams created chances during the first half. For Levadia, Ernest Agyiri’s direct free-kick stood out, but the opposing goalkeeper made the save. Meanwhile, Levadia’s defence, with Karl Andre Vallner in goal, had to work hard to keep the opponents at bay.

In the second half, Levadia had opportunities to turn the game around. Dangerous chances fell to Richie Musaba and Bubacarr Tambedou, but the opposing goal remained intact. Substitute Maksimilian Skvortsov hit the crossbar in the 90th minute, coming closest to scoring.

However, the decisive moment came in the 68th minute when the opponents capitalized on a long ball following a corner and scored the winning goal. Despite late pressure and more dangerous situations created by substitutes, Levadia could not find an equalizer.

Levadia now continues its European campaign in the UEFA Europa Conference League, with a clear goal: reaching the group stage.

Meanwhile, FCI Levadia returns to domestic league action. The Premium Liiga match against Harju JK Laagri takes place on Saturday, 19 July, at A. Le Coq Arena. All Levadia supporters are welcome to cheer on the team!
