FCI Levadia U21 defeated JK Tabasalu 2:1 on their home turf
Yesterday, FCI Levadia U21 defeated JK Tabasalu 2:1 in the 22nd round of the Esiliiga at the Maarjamäe Stadium. Brent Lepistu’s 280-day injury break ended yesterday when the player played his first 45 minutes.
FCI Levadia U21 took the lead in the match in the 20th minute. The goal was scored by Aleksander Filatov, who capitalized on the confusion caused by a low pass. The first half, during which Brent Lepistu, returning from a serious knee injury, was limited, ended with a score of 1:0.
After the break, the home team returned with a bit more hunger, and in the 52nd minute, Romeo Aan scored the second goal from the edge of the box. Levadia continued to steer towards their 9th victory of the season quite successfully, even when Henri Järvelaid, who received a second warning, was sent off the field in the 70th minute.
Tabasalu managed to squeeze only one consolation goal out of the last 20+ minutes and numerical advantage, but it was a beautiful one. Henri Raaper sent a long ball into the opponent’s box, Markus Vaherna controlled it skillfully, shaking off the defender with a touch, and smashed the ball into the top corner under the crossbar. The final score was 2:1.
FCI Levadia U21 has earned 31 points in 22 rounds and is currently in sixth place in the league standings. The next match of the reserve team will take place on August 18th, when they will host JK Tallinna Kalev U21 at their home ground. The match at Maarjamäe Stadium will start at 12:30.
