FCI Levadia secured a 4-1 victory over Pärnu JK Vaprus in their Premium League match held at the Pärnu Rannastaadion during the 23rd round.
After a relatively calm start, Levadia gradually took control of the game about twenty minutes in. However, the opening goal came as a bit of a surprise. Frank Liivak sent a cross from the right wing that proved too challenging for Vaprus goalkeeper Ott Nõmm. As Nõmm moved off his line to clear the high ball, the cross soared beyond his reach, and in an unfortunate turn of events, he collided with Martin Käos as he landed, leaving the goal undefended. Just seconds later, Robert Kirss capitalized on the opportunity, slotting the ball into the net to make it 1-0.
Only three minutes passed before Levadia doubled their lead. Mihkel Ainsalu received a pass from Liivak inside the penalty area, turned swiftly, and fired an unstoppable shot into the corner of the goal, putting Levadia ahead 2-0.
The quick two-goal advantage made things comfortable for Levadia, and with Vaprus struggling to mount any serious attacking threat, the rest of the match turned out to be one of the easiest for Levadia this season. Ainsalu’s powerful long-range strike early in the second half extended the lead to 3-0, before Vaprus even registered their first shot on target.
Towards the end of the match, the net rippled twice more in quick succession. In the 88th minute, Bourama Fomba rose highest to head in a corner, making it 4-0. A few minutes later, Ronaldo Tiismaa grabbed a consolation goal for Vaprus, settling the final score at 4-1.
FCI Levadia’s next fixture is on Friday, where they will face Tartu JK Tammeka at the A. Le Coq Arena. The match kicks off at 19:30, and tickets are available now at www.piletitasku.ee/et/event/6165.
