FCI Levadia played to a draw against Narva Trans in a friendly match.
FCI Levadia faced Narva JK Trans yesterday in the third match of the Winter Tournament at the EJL Football Hall. The match ended in a 0–0 draw.
FCI Levadia’s preparations for the Premium League season are in full swing. On Saturday, the team met Narva JK Trans as part of the Winter Tournament. Over four weeks of training, head coach Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko has put the squad through intense sessions, laying a strong physical foundation. This naturally affects the performance in training matches, but it is essential in order to be ready for the Premium League opening match on March 8.
First half
From the opening minutes it was clear that this was not just a friendly match. Narva Trans came into the game with a strong desire to prove they were better than FCI Levadia. Aggressive man-to-man pressing and, at times, quite robust challenges characterized Trans’ approach.
The first clear chance fell to Narva Trans after a defensive mistake by Victory Iboro, allowing a one-on-one situation with goalkeeper Karl Jakob Vallner. Vallner showed excellent readiness and denied Trans captain Maksimkin with a close-range save.
Although FCI Levadia had several attempts and were the more attacking side, they failed to find the net in the first half. An opening period full of midfield battles and physical duels ended goalless at 0–0.
Second half
The second half began with a scare for Levadia when former Levadia player Ahmad Gero was left unmarked and fired a shot from outside the penalty area. Vallner once again demonstrated his quality — his save sent the ball onto the crossbar, but it did not cross the goal line.
Both teams had their chances in the second half, but neither managed to score, and the match ended in a 0–0 draw.
Head coach Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko commented to Soccernet journalists after the match:
“It was a tough match against a tough opponent. But it was a high-tempo game and exactly what we needed. Credit to the opponent as well — the approach was beneficial for both teams. Both sides played with high pressing. Perhaps it was a bit unexpected for us that the opponent used a strict man-to-man system. We were not fully prepared for that and had to work very hard, but overall we can be satisfied.”
FCI Levadia’s next Winter Tournament match will take place on February 8, when they face Tartu JK Tammeka at the EJL Football Hall. Kick-off in Lilleküla is at 14:00, and the match will be broadcast live on Soccernet TV.
Today, February 1, tickets for FCI Levadia’s first home match go on sale on the Piletitasku platform. Fans can also purchase a club card, which allows convenient and discounted access to FCI Levadia’s home matches during the 2026 Premium League season.
