FCI Levadia opens their Conference League second qualifying round in Croatia tomorrow
FCI Levadia will start their UEFA Conference League second qualifying round matches tomorrow, facing NK Osijek in Croatia. The match will kick off at 21:00, with coverage available on the Soccernet YouTube channel.
The Green Shirts defeated Lithuanian club FA Šiauliai in the first qualifying round and advanced to the second round, where NK Osijek awaits them. Osijek is a club founded in 1947. Tomorrow’s match will be played at the Opus Arena, a brand-new stadium that opened in the summer of 2023. The stadium has a capacity of 13,005 spectators and costs approximately 65 million euros to build.
Osijek’s opponents tomorrow have won only one title in their history, the Croatian Cup, in the 1998–99 season. However, this doesn’t mean much as we all know that the top Croatian clubs are strong, and finishing fourth is already a great achievement for Osijek, giving them a chance to compete in Europe.
The Croatian league has the same system as the Premium League – 10 teams and 36 rounds of matches. Osijek finished fourth with 57 points, 11 points behind third-place Hajduk Split, and six points ahead of fifth place.
The league in Croatia hasn’t started yet, and tomorrow’s match will be Osijek’s first competitive match of the season – before this, they have played a few friendly matches with foreign clubs. This could be an advantage for the Estonian club if the opponents haven’t started their season yet and ours is in the middle. The kick-off tomorrow is at 21:00; we will get our answers then.
Tickets for the return match are already on sale at Piletitasku. The game will take place on August 1st at A. Le Coq Arena at 19:00. Get your discounted ticket today and support your team on August 1st!
