FCI Levadia defeated Viljandi JK Tulevik in the Tipner Cup with a score of 8:1!
Today, on September 11th, the Evald Tipner Cup Round of 32 took place at A. Le Coq Arena. FCI Levadia and Viljandi JK Tulevik faced off. FCI Levadia moves on to the Round of 16 after scoring an impressive eight goals.
This fall, FCI Levadia ended their international break with the Evald Tipner Cup Round of 32. Their opponent was Viljandi JK Tulevik, whom they last played in the fall of 2021. As expected, the current Premium League leaders decisively beat Viljandi JK Tulevik, who sits at the bottom of the Esiliiga B table, with a 7-goal lead. Today’s game also marked not only progression to the Round of 16 but also the return of FCI Levadia’s former captain, Brent Lepistu, to the field!
FCI Levadia started the game boldly – only two players from the starting lineup against FC Flora before the international break were included. The first half ended with a 3-0 lead for the home team. The goals were scored by Moustapha Bah (22′), Ioan Yakovlev (31′), and Frank Liivak (41′). Viljandi JK Tulevik had no response to these goals.
It wasn’t until the beginning of the second half (53′) that Oscar Joost scored for Viljandi JK Tulevik, reducing the home team’s lead from three goals to two. However, that was the only response from Viljandi JK Tulevik. In the following minutes, Levadia managed to score five more goals: Aleksandr Zakarliuka (61′ and 79′), Moustapha Bah (64′), Maksim Gussev (81′), and Bourama Fomba (87′).
With a comfortable lead, FCI Levadia emerged victorious in the Tipner Cup Round of 32 and will advance to the Round of 16, where they will face FC Elva. The exact date of the match is yet to be determined. Overall, it was a strong performance and a solid game from the team.
