Brave fight in the cup ended in extra time – Levadia eliminated from the Tipner Cup

The Tipner Cup round of 16 match against FC Flora, played yesterday on October 29, ended in a 1–3 defeat for FCI Levadia, bringing our cup journey to an end this season.

Starting lineup: Oliver Ani (GK), Tanel Tammik, Rasmus Peetson (C), Brent Lepistu, Robert Kirss, Aleksandr Zakarliuka, Carlos Torres, Enock Otoo, Victory Iboro, Maksimilian Skvortsov, Kaua Davi.

Levadia started the match strongly. The first half was under our control and we were the only team to score. In the 36th minute, after a corner situation, Tanel Tammik found the net with a precise shot into the top corner – 1–0 for Levadia. We had more chances in the first half, but Flora’s goalkeeper Lapa kept his team in the game.

In the second half Flora came out with increasing pressure, and although Levadia held onto the lead until the final minutes, Flora equalized in the 87th minute. With the score at 1–1 after regular time, the match went to extra time.

Both teams brought on key players for extra time. Levadia made several substitutions throughout the match – including Musaba, Ainsalu, Larsen, Roosnupp, Mavretic and Wendell. The match ended earlier for goal scorer Tammik, as well as for Kirss, Otoo, Zakarliuka, Kaua Davi and Skvortsov.

In the decisive moments, the experience of Flora’s substitutes proved crucial, with Sergei Zenjov scoring twice in extra time to make it 3–1 and secure their place in the next round. Levadia exits the cup this season.

Focus on the league finish

Now the Levadia squad shifts its full focus to the final two matches of the Premium Liiga season. This Sunday we travel to Narva, followed by our final match of the season at Laagri Stadium against Harju.

We currently sit in second place with 75 points, while Flora leads with 76 points. Everything is still open.
