Agyiri’s goal brings Levadia a much-needed victory in Laagri

FCI Levadia returned to the winning track in the Premium League by defeating Harju JK Laagri away with a 1-0 scoreline. The match, which featured plenty of substitutions, battles, and individual brilliance, was decided early on – the only goal came in the 12th minute from the cooperation between Henri Järvelaid and Ernest Agyiri.

Compared to the midweek game against Pärnu JK Vaprus, Levadia made as many as eight changes to their starting lineup, but the freshness was evident. The starting eleven included Oliver Ani (GK), Tanel Tammik, Mark Oliver Roosnupp, Rasmus Peetson (C), Mihkel Ainsalu, Ernest Agyiri, Til Mavretic, Robert Kirss, Richie Musaba, Frank Liivak, and Henri Järvelaid.

From the opening minutes, Levadia controlled the ball actively with lively movement. In the 12th minute, Järvelaid delivered a perfect cross from the left flank, landing precisely in the back zone. Ernest Agyiri was ready there and directed a difficultly dropping ball into the net off the post – 1-0.

About ten minutes later, Järvelaid was involved again. After a diagonal ball from Rasmus Peetson, he shot the ball without hesitation, which flew with a high arc hitting the crossbar – this time the double was missed but the moment was remarkable.

Although Levadia dominated possession, Harju maintained their composure. In the 19th minute, Harju managed a shot, but it was safe for Oliver Ani. Towards the end of the first half, Levadia had to actively defend as Harju pushed for an equalizer, but they failed to score.

The second half remained tense. Harju became increasingly active, while Levadia held their line firmly – defending compactly and seeking sharp moments. Despite Harju’s attempts to equalize one-on-one opportunities, they were unsuccessful. Levadia goalkeeper Oliver Ani kept a clean sheet.

Captain Rasmus Peetson bore a heavy load again and had to leave the game in the 81st minute after two consecutive knee impacts. He left the field on his own but this injury might mean a forced break from the national team’s perspective.

With this win, Levadia continues their tight fight at the top of the league. The refreshed lineup, work ethic, and individual flashes helped secure three points from Laagri.

Now, the Premium League will pause as the men’s national team prepares for important matches against Israel and Norway. This break provides an opportunity to recharge and prepare for the upcoming rounds at full strength.

Levadia players called up to the national team are Rasmus Peetson, Mihkel Ainsalu, Karl Andre Vallner, Michael Schjønning-Larsen, and Brent Lepistu. We wish them success in their international duties!
