FCI Levadia U19 lost the U19 Elite League Meistriliiga final to FC Flora U19

Yesterday at Pärnu Rannastaadion, FCI Levadia U19 were defeated 2–5 by FC Flora U19 in the U19 Elite League Meistriliiga final. The closely contested first half ended in a 2–2 draw, but Flora managed to take control during the second half and secure the victory.

Levadia’s youngsters started the final confidently and matched their opponents throughout the opening half. The fast-paced and entertaining first half produced four goals, with the teams going into halftime level at 2–2. Skvortsov and Rodionov scored for FCI Levadia U19 before the break. In the second half, however, Flora were more clinical with their chances and eventually claimed a 5–2 win.

After the match, Levadia U19 head coach Dmitri Kruglov said he was pleased with his team’s performance and praised the players’ character and maturity.

“Hats off to the boys, they showed real character. I think it was a достойный match. They did everything we discussed before the game and everything that was planned. Today you saw the future of Levadia on the pitch. But that’s football — if you don’t score, you concede. Unfortunately, today we conceded,” said Kruglov after the match.

The Levadia coach also expressed hope that a common trend seen in youth leagues — losing a final and winning the title a year later — could repeat itself with his team.

“I hope so! Next year we will definitely do everything possible to make it happen. The boys showed character even though they are very young. Some of them are only playing their first season in men’s football. But they didn’t collapse under pressure — they played well and with discipline. After the match we supported them — how exactly, I won’t tell you! Unfortunately, the game is over and we can’t change the result anymore,” Kruglov concluded.
