The Estonia Men’s National Team ended the year with a convincing 4–2 win over Cyprus!

Estonia wrapped up its 2025 international calendar on 18 November in Limassol with a 4–2 victory in a friendly against Cyprus.

The hosts controlled the early stages and took the lead in the 16th minute after capitalising on a defensive mistake by Estonia. Toward the end of the first half Estonia grew into the game: first, the Cypriot goalkeeper kept out Kevor Palumets’ free kick, but in the 44th minute Palumets’ corner deflected off a defender into the home side’s own net, making it 1–1.

Early in the second half Estonia created several chances, but it was Cyprus who struck again in the 51st minute from a quick counterattack. After that the match calmed down until Estonia’s pressure — and substitutions — started to make an impact in the final quarter. In the 78th minute Rauno Sappinen finished off a neat combination with Markus Poom and Patrik Kristal, and five minutes later he put the ball in the net again from a corner situation.

Sappinen completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute, converting a pass from Michael Schjønning-Larsen. Estonia turned the match fully in its favour and secured a well-deserved 4–2 win.

A short while earlier, Estonia had faced Norway in a match that resembled the teams’ first meeting: after a determined first half the score remained 0–0, but the Norwegians eventually pulled away and Estonia suffered a 4–1 defeat. Robi Saarma scored Estonia’s only goal.

From FCI Levadia, Michael Schjønning-Larsen and Rasmus Peetson recorded valuable minutes against both Norway and Cyprus. Carl Andre Vallner watched from the sidelines this time, and Markus Tammik was unable to take part due to injury.

The national team’s fixtures for this year have now concluded — the boys in blue will be back in action again next year!
