Epic comeback in the big derby – from 0:2 to 3:2 victory. The title race is still open!

Today, September 24, the final intra-Premium League derby of the season took place at A. Le Coq Arena and ended with a spectacular comeback from Levadia – turning a two-goal deficit into a 3:2 win, cutting the gap to the league leaders down to three points.

FCI Levadia started with the following lineup:
Karl Andre Vallner (GK), Michael Schjønning-Larsen, Tanel Tammik, Mark Oliver Roosnupp, Edgar Tur, Mihkel Ainsalu, Til Mavretič (c), Carlos Torres, Victory Iboro, João Pedro and Wendell Gabriel.

The first half was dominated by Levadia – right from the opening minute, the team attacked aggressively to show that today it was all or nothing. While no goal came from this, the pressure in Flora’s box was strong, which was also reflected in the halftime statistics.

Nevertheless, two painful blows had to be endured – both converted by Deivid Andreas. It should be noted that Levadia had to cope without their captain Rasmus Peetson, who missed the match.

The statistics still spoke in Levadia’s favor: possession 69–31, shots 10–7, corners 6–1. Despite this, halftime arrived with a 0:2 deficit. Given the importance of the match in the title race, a Flora win would have left Levadia’s championship hopes very slim.

In the second half, Levadia came out hungry and determined. The fans pushed passionately, and the game quickly turned. In the 54th minute, Wendell Gabriel struck a beautiful shot into the top corner to make it 1:2. The pressure on Flora’s goal continued, and just ten minutes later it paid off again – Kivila managed to block Wendell’s shot, but the ball fell to Mihkel Ainsalu, who immediately sent it into the net. It was 2:2.

Levadia were not content with a draw and kept pushing hard. In the 73rd minute, Edgar Tur took initiative, skillfully carried the ball forward and fired in from long range straight into the net. Again, Kivila had no answer, and the scoreboard showed 3:2 – the score that stood until the final whistle.

Wendell found the net once more in the second half, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Man of the Match was Levadia’s stand-in captain Til Mavretič. Levadia’s end-of-season sprint continues!

The next match will be in Premium League round 30, when Levadia face JK Tallinna Kalev at home. The match will take place this Sunday at 17:00 at A. Le Coq Arena. Tickets are available at Piletitasku.

The title race is still open – we need your support to give everything on the pitch. Come and be part of it!
