Mavretić: “This is a final for us.” The last Tallinn derby takes place tomorrow!
Tomorrow, September 24, marks the final big Tallinn derby of the season – FC Flora will face off against FCI Levadia. The match kicks off at 19:00 at A. Le Coq Arena.
Flora currently leads the Premium Liiga table with 66 points, while Levadia follows with 60 points. This is a decisive match: if Flora wins, the gap will widen to nine points – a difference that’s difficult to close at the end of the season. However, if Levadia secures the victory, the gap shrinks to just three points, and the title race remains wide open.
As always before a major clash, a pre-match press conference was held. Representing Flora were striker Rauno Sappinen and head coach Konstantin Vassiljev. Levadia was represented by head coach Curro Torres and midfielder Til Mavretić.
Curro Torres:
“This is a very important match for us. We need those three points tomorrow. I hope I’m being clear – the current situation is my responsibility. Everything that has happened on the pitch is my responsibility.”
Til Mavretić:
“These have been tough times – we’ve dropped a lot of points in recent rounds. But we haven’t given up. Tomorrow, we face Flora in a match that feels like a final for us – we have to win it.”
We invite all Levadia supporters to come and cheer for the team at A. Le Coq Arena – your support from the stands can make all the difference! See you tomorrow at 19:00!
