Crucial 3 points before the international break secured! 3–1 victory over Trans

Today, on August 29, FCI Levadia hosted JK Narva Trans in the 26th round of the Premium Liiga. The home team claimed a convincing 3–1 win before heading into the international break and retained the top spot in the league!

Levadia started with the following lineup: Karl Andre Vallner (GK), Michael Schjønning-Larsen, Mark Oliver Roosnupp, Rasmus Peetson (c), Bubacarr Tambedou, Brent Lepistu, Mihkel Ainsalu, Til Mavretič, Carlos Torres, Victory Sunday, and João Pedro.

The match began evenly – both teams created some dangerous chances and possession was fairly balanced. Towards the end of the first half, Levadia became increasingly threatening and broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute.

João Pedro delivered a corner kick which Tambedou headed on target. Although goalkeeper Matrossov managed to save initially, Tambedou reacted quickest and slotted the rebound into the net – 1–0!

Levadia came out for the second half with even greater motivation. Just two minutes after the restart, in the 47th minute, the lead was doubled: captain Rasmus Peetson struck powerfully towards goal, Matrossov parried, but the ball fell to Carlos Torres who calmly finished – 2–0.

A little later, Levadia scored their third. Mihkel Ainsalu’s free kick was again stopped by Matrossov, but both Peetson and Tambedou rushed for the rebound. Tambedou got there first and netted his second of the match – 3–0!

Narva Trans managed to pull one back in the 68th minute through Cristian Luca Campagna, but that was all they could get. The game ended in a solid 3–1 victory for Levadia. Bubacarr Tambedou was named Man of the Match!

Next up is the international break – Estonia will face Italy on September 5 and Andorra on September 9. The Premium Liiga returns on September 13 when Levadia visits Tartu, followed by the big Tallinn derby against FC Flora at home on September 17. Tickets for the derby are available here!
