Levadia Returns from Premium League Break with a Victory!
On June 14, FCI Levadia travelled to Saaremaa to face FC Kuressaare in the 16th round of the Premium Liiga. In a tense and hot match, Levadia secured a valuable 2–1 win and three important points!
Levadia starting lineup: Karl Andre Vallner (GK), Michael Schjønning-Larsen, Tanel Tammik, Mark Oliver Roosnupp, Bubacarr Tambedou, Mihkel Ainsalu, Ernest Agyiri, Til Mavretič (C), Richie Musaba, Frank Liivak, and Victory Sunday Iboro.
After a two-week Premium Liiga break, which also included international matches, yesterday’s game marked the team’s return to league action. The kickoff took place on June 14 at 14:30, and the weather offered a true summer atmosphere – hot and sunny.
The start of the match showed that getting back into rhythm after a break can be challenging. The first half began rather calmly, with few dangerous chances from either side. However, as the game progressed, both teams started creating more opportunities.
No goals were scored in regular time of the first half – although Kuressaare found the net in the 40th minute, the goal was disallowed due to offside. Four minutes were added due to stoppages, and in the final one – 45+5 minutes – Mark Oliver Roosnupp put Levadia ahead 1–0.
Levadia came into the second half with more sharpness, aiming to secure the win. Kuressaare responded in the 54th minute with an equaliser – 1–1. Fortunately, Levadia didn’t take long to answer: just six minutes later, they regained the lead and took control of the game. Bubacarr Tambedou had two attempts in front of the goal, converting the second – 2–1! Kuressaare were not allowed any more real chances, and the match ended 2–1 in Levadia’s favour.
