
The Big Final Awaits: Can Levadia Defend the Tipner Cup?
Tomorrow, May 24, the grand Tipner Cup final of the season will take place, as FCI Levadia and Nõmme Kalju FC go head-to-head. One team will raise the coveted trophy and hold the Tipner Cup title for the next year.
Currently, the cup is in the hands of FCI Levadia. Can Levadia defend the title? We’ll find out tomorrow when the opening whistle blows at 19:00 at A. Le Coq Arena.
This season, Levadia and Kalju have already faced each other three times. Early in the year, they clashed in the A. Le Coq Supercup final, which Levadia won 3–2. The goals came from Ahmad Gero, Richie Musaba, and Bubacarr Tambedou.
In the Premium League, both teams have claimed one win each: Levadia took the first match 2–1 (goals by Joao Pedro and Rasmus Peetson), while Kalju won the second 2–0.
The stats from the last 20 meetings strongly favor Levadia: 14 wins, 3 draws, and only 3 losses. A total of 57 goals have been scored in those matches – 39 by Levadia and 18 by Kalju – making an average of 2.85 goals per match.
