Today’s match ended in a tough result against Nõmme Kalju.
The 11th round of the Premium Liiga brought us face-to-face today, May 4, with Nõmme Kalju, who currently hold fourth place in the table. Unfortunately, we had to concede a 2–0 defeat.
Levadia started the match with the following lineup: Karl Andre Vallner (GK), Michael Schjonning-Larsen, Rasmus Peetson (C), Edgar Tur, Brent Lepistu, Mihkel Ainsalu, Ernest Agyiri, Til Mavretic, Richie Musaba, Enock Otoo, and Joao Pedro.
The first half was mostly played near Kalju’s goal, as Levadia actively searched for opportunities to take the lead. However, we couldn’t find the back of the net, and instead it was the visitors who scored in the 24th minute — 1–0 to Kalju. While one goal doesn’t decide a match, Kalju managed to double their lead just before halftime, in the 45th minute.
So, we went into the break trailing 0–2. At the start of the second half, Levadia’s head coach made no changes. The team continued to press forward, but the sharpness gradually started to fade. Kalju defended solidly, looking to steal three valuable points from the league leaders.
In the 57th and 64th minutes, Bubacarr Tambedou, Mark Oliver Roosnupp, and Frank Liivak entered the match, aiming to bring fresh energy and attacking power. In the 79th minute, Tanel Tammik and Moustapha Bah were also subbed in. Unfortunately, these changes didn’t bring the desired turnaround, and the match ended in a 0–2 defeat for Levadia.
Already next Sunday, on Mother’s Day, we welcome Paide Linnameeskond to our home ground for a chance at redemption. We remain at the top of the table, but now it’s time to show hunger and sharpness on the pitch. Kick-off is at 14:30 – tickets available here!
