Back where he belongs: Ahmad Gero scores in three out of four games!

Last spring, on April 28, when FCI Levadia traveled to face Tartu JK Tammeka, Gero suffered an injury. A long recovery is now behind him – Gero is back on the pitch!

The Nigerian striker Ahmad Gero, who joined Levadia in 2024, got injured during the 8th round match of last season’s Premium Liiga. He had only appeared in eight matches for Levadia before the injury brought his season to an unexpected end. Despite the short period, he managed to score twice – once against FC Kuressaare and once against Nõmme Kalju FC. Altogether, he collected 241 minutes on the field.

With the new season underway, the Nigerian striker is back in action! In the very first match of the year, the Supercup Final, Gero found the net again. Alongside his playing minutes, he scored an important goal, giving Levadia a 2:0 lead towards the end of the first half!

He scored his second goal of the season already in the following match, in the Tipner Cup quarterfinal against FC Zapoos – Gero opened the scoring in the 9th minute for both Levadia and the match overall.

Levadia’s latest match took place in Tartu, on the artificial pitch at Sepa Football Centre – the very same field where Gero had suffered his injury in 2024. The match against Tartu JK Tammeka was tight, and just before the final minutes, the scoreboard showed a 2:2 draw. In the 88th minute, Gero took matters into his own hands and scored an extremely important 3:2 winning goal, helping his team secure three valuable points on the road!

How do you manage to always see the positive side, even when it’s dark? I know it, and I’ve known it over these past days, weeks, and months. All for today! I can’t even tell you how much I missed this feeling. I missed stepping out onto the pitch—especially at home—helping my teammates, and celebrating with our fans afterwards! After nine months, I can finally do what I love above all else again. It’s been a long road, but every single day of hard work has been worth it!
