Levadia Secures a 3:1 Victory Over FC Elva in the Tipner Cup Round of 16!
On October 30, five Tipner Cup matches took place, including the Round of 16 clash between FCI Levadia and FC Elva. FCI Levadia triumphed with a 3:1 win, advancing to the quarterfinals.
The Wednesday match, held at Nike Arena in Elva, kicked off at 7:00 p.m., with the Premium League champions taking on FC Elva, who are currently seventh in the Esiliiga standings. FCI Levadia made several adjustments for the cup game, starting with the coaching bench. Assistant coach Soto took on the head coach role for this match.
The starting lineup included goalkeeper Oliver Ani, as well as players like Hubert Liiv, Alexandre Lopes Gomes, Aleksandr Zakarliuka, Maksimilian Skvortsov, Ken Kallaste, and Maksim Gussev. Substitutes included Henri Järvelaid and Henri Käblik. However, some key players also started, such as team captain Rasmus Peetson, Mark Oliver Roosnupp, Moustapha Bah, and Frank Liivak. Substitutes later included Ioan Yakovlev, Michael Shjonning-Larsen, and Richie Musaba.
From the outset, it was clear that the power balance was uneven, with FCI Levadia dominating the Esiliiga team. Two goals were scored in the first half, the first in the 12th minute by Moustapha Bah, marking his sixth goal of the season. FC Elva managed to equalize in the 24th minute – 1:1. Aleksandr Zakarliuka netted another for FCI Levadia just before halftime, putting the team back in the lead at 2:1.
The second half continued as successfully for FCI Levadia, with Bah scoring his seventh goal of the season in the 49th minute. The game continued at the same pace, with no additional goals scored by either side. The final score stood at 3:1, securing FCI Levadia a spot in the Tipner Cup quarterfinals.
With the season’s end nearing, only two games remain – one at home and one away. The final home match will be this Sunday in the big derby, with the kickoff against FC Flora set for November 3 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available here.
