A Champion-Worthy Game – Convincing 4:0 Win Over Nõmme Kalju!

FCI Levadia entered today’s away match in the 34th round of the Premium League against Nõmme Kalju FC with confidence, worthy of champions. Nõmme Kalju FC was convincingly defeated with a solid 4:0 victory.

FIRST HALF

From the opening whistle, the green shirts took control and pushed the Nõmme players back into their box. Early chances arose, but Rasmus Peetson and Richie Musaba missed, and Maksim Pavlov made an excellent save on Mihkel Ainsalu’s attempt. However, in the 19th minute, the green shirts got what they wanted.

In the 19th minute, Maksim Pavlov cleared Frank Liivak’s cross onto Henri Järvelaid’s foot, who slotted it into the net – 0:1! Just two minutes later, Musaba provided a great through-ball to Mark Oliver Roosnupp, who perfectly timed his run behind Kalju’s defensive line and converted it into a goal – 0:2! It’s often said that championships are won with strong defense, and today, that statement held true. Levadia’s players defended passionately, with Brent Lepistu, Rasmus Peetson, and Alexandre Lopez Gomes frequently blocking Kalju’s shots in the nick of time to keep their goal intact. Karl Andre Vallner, selected by ERR as the game’s best player, successfully blocked or caught Kalju’s attempts multiple times.

SECOND HALF

The second half started calmly, as the green shirts led 0:2 and only needed to maintain their clean sheet. They handled this well, with defenders and Vallner stepping in as needed. FCI Levadia even scored a third goal when Moustapha Bah got the ball in the box and sent a left-footed shot past Pavlov – 0:3! Henri Käblik, who last played for FCI Levadia in the Premium League in 2023, came on as a substitute in the 89th minute and earned a penalty for the green shirts in the 90+3rd minute. The team always decides in advance who will take penalties, and Ainsalu was supposed to be the one. However, he courteously gave the chance to Käblik, who calmly scored his debut goal in a Levadia jersey in the Premium League in the 90+4th minute – 0:4!
