Today, on June 17, the draw for the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round took place. As a result of the draw, FCI Levadia will face Latvian top-tier club FC RFS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the morning, it was revealed that Levadia\u2019s potential opponents were Malm\u00f6 FF (Sweden), FK \u017dalgiris (Lithuania), KuPS Kuopio (Finland), The New Saints FC (Wales), and FC RFS (Latvia). Later in the day, the draw confirmed that Levadia will play against FC RFS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first leg of the first qualifying round will be played between July 8\u20139, and the return leg between July 15\u201316. Exact dates will be announced soon, but it is already confirmed that the first match will take place at home, at A. Le Coq Arena, with the return leg in Latvia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Levadia and FC RFS have met once before \u2013 on February 29, 2020, in a friendly match that ended in a 1\u20131 draw. Four current Levadia players \u2013 Rasmus Peetson, Brent Lepistu, Mark Oliver Roosnupp, and Robert Kirss \u2013 also played in that match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like Levadia, FC RFS are reigning champions of their domestic league. This season, FC RFS sit second in the Latvian top division. Out of 17 matches, they\u2019ve won 13, lost 3, and drawn 1, collecting 40 points with a goal difference of +26. They are just two points behind the league leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Levadia are currently joint leaders in the Estonian Premium Liiga alongside FC Flora, both on 35 points. Levadia have played 16 matches, winning 11, drawing 2, and losing 3, with a goal difference of +22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first leg against FC RFS will be held at A. Le Coq Arena (exact date to be confirmed), and the return leg will take place a week later in Latvia. Tickets for the home match will be available soon \u2013 stay tuned!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
