Estonia\u2019s men\u2019s A-national team played two away matches during the spring international window\u2014one against Israel and the other against Moldova. While the opening match ended in a narrow defeat, the second match saw Estonia open their points account and return home with a valuable victory!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national team gathered on March 16 to begin joint preparations in Hungary. The squad included five FCI Levadia players: Mihkel Ainsalu, Rasmus Peetson, Tanel Tammik, Karl Andre Vallner, and Michael Schjonning-Larsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MATCH AGAINST ISRAEL<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first World Cup qualifier took place on March 22 at 21:45 in Hungary, at the Nagyerdei Stadium, against Israel. Among Levadia players, Rasmus Peetson and Michael Schjonning-Larsen started in the lineup, but no other club representatives made it onto the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estonia started the match energetically, and by the 10th minute, Maksim Paskot\u0161i had given the team the lead with his debut goal. Unfortunately, Israel equalized by halftime after a stroke of bad luck saw the ball deflect off goalkeeper Hein into Estonia\u2019s net. In the second half, Estonia was unable to score again, while the opponents netted a decisive goal in the 75th minute, resulting in a 1-2 defeat for Estonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VICTORIOUS MATCH AGAINST MOLDOVA<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second and final match of the international window took place on March 25 at 19:00 in Moldova at the Zimbru Stadium. Levadia players Mihkel Ainsalu, Rasmus Peetson, and Michael Schjonning-Larsen were in the starting lineup. Due to an injury, Estonia\u2019s main goalkeeper was absent, but his replacement, Karl Andre Vallner, did not make it onto the field. Tanel Tammik also remained on the bench, waiting for his debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like in the previous match, Estonia took the lead in the first half. In the 17th minute, Levadia captain Rasmus Peetson opened the scoring, and in the 30th minute, Rauno Sappinen doubled the advantage\u20140:2 on the scoreboard!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second half, Moldova reduced the deficit by one goal, but in the 70th minute, Mattias K\u00e4it responded, making it 1-3 for Estonia. Moldova\u2019s goal in stoppage time set the final score at 2-3, but it did not prevent Estonia from claiming a well-earned victory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national team concluded the spring international window with one loss and one win, officially opening their points account. The next matches are scheduled for June: on June 6, Estonia will face Israel again in Tallinn, and on June 9, they will host Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
